My father was never particularly larger than life. When I once asked him to describe his personality he paused a moment and replied "not vivid". His needs were modest but his dreams were vast. To make the
world a better place. To create social justice and erase racism and sexism. His decency was manifest in every movement of his day and his willingness to provide stability to his wife and 5 children was paramount. We kids were rarely doted on and yet we all felt his love. At the end of his life- at our last family gathering- my father shared his last goal for his family. "Cherish me- and cherish each other. that is my wish for us." We will always cherish you Dad and thank you for
all the many blessings of your example as a husband, father, lawyer and friend of those in need. |
